From Freetown to Changsha: A Health Pact Spanning Ten Thousand Miles! He Reveals How Chinese Technology Ignites Africa’s Public Health Hope
On June 24, Dr. Sartie Kenneh, Chief Medical Officer of Sierra Leone’s Ministry of Health, led a delegation to visit Sansure accompanied by Dr. Zhihui Chen, member and medical team leader of The 25th batch of the Chinese medical team in Sierra Leone. The visit aims to deepen cooperation in public health, particularly in cervical cancer prevention and control, and jointly explore new pathways for China-Africa health collaboration.
“Remarkable! Sansure is achieving such impressive global milestones!” Dr. Sartie Kenneh and his delegation thoroughly visited Sansure’s exhibition hall and intelligent workshop, conducting on-site inspections of the company’s global R&D layout, core technology platforms, and industrial-scale production capabilities. They highly commended the company’s extraordinary technological innovation capacity and efficient contributions to global health. “This visit has lived up to our transcontinental health pact. Seeing first-hand how Chinese technology will empower Africa’s public health future,” Dr. Kenneh expressed strong confidence and anticipation.
“Back in Sierra Leone, I’ve witnessed the affliction diseases bring to women, but also seen the light of hope ignited by HPV screening technology. Sansure’s accessible solutions will brighten the future for more lives,” said Dr. Zhihui Chen.
During the visit, both parties reviewed the cervical cancer screening project successfully implemented by Sansure and Dr. Chen’s team in Sierra Leone. Pioneered by Dr. Chen with careful guidance and full support from the Health Commission of Hunan Province, and backed by Sansure’s advanced products and technical expertise, this 2024 initiative marked the country’s first large-scale HPV nucleic acid testing screening program, providing precise and efficient services for 2,000 women of eligible age.
The project has effectively filled the technical gap in cervical cancer early detection and treatment in Sierra Leone, receiving positive response and high acclaim from local women while delivering significant social impact. Its innovative cooperation model and outstanding prevention outcomes have not only gained full recognition from Sierra Leone’s Ministry of Health but also earned strong appreciation and support from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). In recognition of Sansure’s exceptional contribution to the nation’s public health development, the Sierra Leonean government awarded the ‘National Public Health Contribution Award’ to the company.
Dr. Sartie Kenneh said emotionally during the exchange: “We have truly witnessed how Sansure’s innovative solutions and the dedicated efforts of Dr. Zhihui Chen’s team are bringing tangible improvements to women’s health and well-being in Sierra Leone.” He emphasized that facing public health challenges including viral hepatitis, HIV/AIDS, and cervical cancer, Sierra Leone has developed an action plan with support from UNFPA. “We enthusiastically anticipate Sansure’s continued strong support in advancing Sierra Leone’s health initiatives.” The visit significantly deepened mutual understanding and trust, with the country’s Ministry of Health expressing confidence in sustained collaboration.
A Thank-You Letter Transcending Geographical Barriers: From the Embassy of Sierra Leone

During this month’s China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo, Sansure served as a key partner by hosting the Sierra Leonean delegation’s visit to Hunan. The company’s professional coordination, high-standard hospitality, and comprehensive logistical support earned unanimous praise from delegation members. The Embassy of Sierra Leone in China specially issued a letter of gratitude, expressing sincere appreciation for Sansure’s tireless efforts in ensuring the visit’s success and its deep commitment to enhancing Sierra Leone-China friendship.
Global Mission: Practitioner of the Health Silk Road
Dr. Sartie Kenneh’s special visit not only affirmed the fruitful outcomes of prior collaboration but also represented a solemn commitment to future joint progress and deepened partnership. This marks a new leap in both parties’ efforts to advance public health system capacity building in Sierra Leone and across Africa.
Dr. Zhihui Chen stated that applying advanced technologies from his homeland to enhance the health and well-being of women in Sierra Leone is both a profound honor as a medical professional and a true embodiment of the spirit of “boundless compassion.” He looks forward to continuing collaboration with Sansure and Sierra Leonean partners to extend precise and accessible medical technologies to more African people.
